Towpath Tales in Year 2

​We are enjoying the geography part of our Towpath Tales project and have been finding out about some of the features of The Oxford Canal.

We have learned the origin of the word towpath, we know that canals are human features unlike rivers which are physical and we found out that there are 46 locks on this canal. The one in Banbury is lock number 29. We have started reading about the adventures of some fictional canal boats who live at the Thrupp wharf and are planning to design some new boats to join them.

We even made paper prototypes in DT. We are working on an annotated picture map of the canal and will be adding to it over the next few weeks.
