It's been a busy week at Forest School; building dens and magical fairy homes, learning how to safely use secateurs and pruning saws, digging, exploring, and spending time up in the trees some for the very first time
Throughout the week, there has been a real sense of koinonia as children worked together, shared ideas, supported one another, and took responsibility as a community in the woodland. We saw compassion and love in action through encouragement, patience, and kindness especially when challenges felt tricky or new.
Honest conversations about safety, choices, and learning helped everyone grow in confidence, making it a truly meaningful week of outdoor learning.
A wonderful reminder of how Forest School helps children connect, care, and thrive together.

Today was all about learning new skills and caring for our woodland space. We learnt how to use secateurs and pruning saws safely and put those skills to good use by cutting up our Christmas tree so it can be reused by other Forest School learners. A lovely example of teamwork and sustainability in action. Out in the mud, we engineered our own stepping stones to help us cross the squelchiest patcheslots of problem solving and collaboration along the way! And of course... we still found plenty of time to hang out in the trees. Another brilliant morning of learning, exploring, and building confidence in the outdoors.

It may have been chilly and damp at Forest School this week but that didn't stop us! Today the woods were full of swings, more zip-wire adventures, creative den building and plenty of time simply hanging out in the trees. There was a real sense of koinonia as everyone worked together, shared ideas, and encouraged one another in the mud and branches. We showed compassion by helping friends who needed a steady hand or a little confidence boost, and we practised truth by being honest about what felt safe and by making thoughtful choices. With the weather testing us, the children demonstrated great endurance, sticking with challenges and enjoying every moment outdoors. To finish, we gathered in the fire circle for a well-earned hot chocolate to warm ourselves up. A brilliant, end to the term!
This morning we took part in the schools Santa Fun Run for Katharine House Hospice! We had a brilliant time making our way through the obstacles in our house teams! Katharine House Hospice
