I have been a teacher for 23 years working in Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire in a wide variety of schools. My passion for learning is rooted in my own education when as a young child I attended a variety of different schools due to my father being in the RAF. This led me to really appreciate and understand the difference teachers and schools can make to a child’s life and when I left University I wanted to be part of making that difference to children myself.
I am incredibly proud to be Headteacher at St Mary's, a position I took up in September 2015 having previously been Headteacher at 2 other Oxfordshire schools and also having spent 5 years working for the Local Authority supporting school facing all sorts of challenges.
The team here at St Mary’s are second to none and work tirelessly to offer our children a rich and varied educational experience, never accepting second best. We have lots of fun and I love celebrating our children's success with them. It is true to say I am lucky enough to have the best job in the world!
I have been teaching now for 18 years and am very excited to starting my fourth year here at St Mary's. I am especially delighted to be part of the learning journey of such wonderfully enthusiastic children!
I share my current role as Assistant Head with my colleague Sarah Di Giorno, and together we work alongside Mrs Woods on many aspects of school life. My specific responsibilities include coordinating Special Educational Needs across school and I also have a key role in Safeguarding.
St Mary's is a fantastic community to be a part of. One of the most enjoyable and rewarding features of my job is getting to know our families and working together to support the learning and development of our pupils.
