This week in Swallows

This week in English, we have been reading more of Gulliver's Travels. We have reached the part where Gulliver asks the Emperor of Lilliput if he can have his freedom. Along with year 3, we created a conscience alley to help the Emperor decide what to do. There were lots of good reasons for and against setting Gulliver free. Next week, we will continue reading the book to find out what is decided.

We also received our musical instruments this week! Everyone was really excited. We began by learning how to blow into the mouthpiece to create the sound and also learnt about the different lengths of notes. Hopefully we will remember them all ready for next week's lesson.

In maths, we have begun working on addition. We played a game to help us practise. Although it was challenging, we found it fun and we worked hard together. Next week, we are going to continue learning to use the column method.
