The same but different in Swifts

This week has been a change around for Swifts with 2 new teachers, who are already familiar to the children; Mrs Thom and Miss Prud’homme and a whole new PSHCE project, Staying Safe Online. As part of our SCIB (Safeguarding Children in Banbury), we have talked about the pressures of social media and how positive images and concepts can be reinforced through social media and magazine. As well as thinking about how and when we should take responsibility for our actions when online.

To honour a Shrove Tuesday tradition, we joined the whole school outside for the annual pancake races, organised superbly by the Y6 leadership team and the support of others. There was some fantastic flipping of pancakes as we all raced up and down! Look at the photos to see how much we enjoyed it!

In Maths, we have recapped addition from last term and reviewed our understanding of money by investigating the different ways to total £2 and £1.

We also welcomed Mr Wakefield back to continue our musical exploration into Blues music, working towards creating our own lyrics next week to our very own Blues riff.
