Swifts are puzzling it out....

​Swifts saw the arrival of a bizarre and intriguing cube of mysteries!  Inside the display cube were clues towards our new Project topic and after some predictions, connections and assertions about what the gold coins, mysterious quote, genie lamp and silk material might point to... we finally discovered our new project is 1001 Arabian Nights!  You will read about the origins of this story as part of your English homework this week to spot the 10 grammar and spelling mistakes. During the week,  we have read the opening story using different versions of the well known tale and compared how the language and presentation varied. 
 
There’s also been a lovely sound floating out of the Y5 class this week...singing! We are preparing hard for our special Y5/6 Concert on Tuesday, where we get to perform with a live rock band. Rock on!
 
We have finished our look into mathematical key concepts, like multiple, factor and prime numbers and now begin to look at more formal multiplication using formal written methods. Check out the homework for some useful links if you’d like more information.
