Sushi. To eat or not to eat?

Definitely not to eat during our art week this week in Owls and Kestrels! Closely observing the detail, shape and tone of sushi as it sits there patiently on our desk; our mouths were watering during the lesson, eager to eat it!
Observing from a forward facing view, we used soft pencils to develop tone to show shade and shadows of our sushi. 
Then, from a birds eye view, we were recreating what we can see whilst developing our skills to use oil pastels to blend colour together and produce abstract art from the sushi. Bet you can't tell it's inspired by Sushi?! No, because that is our intention!

We loved monoprinting to create a noodle inspired piece that represents the craziness of noodles on a plate! Look at our outcomes. We love love love it! 

We finished the week off with a bang! Developing our sculpturing skills, we recreated our own sushi clay model. Rolling, imprinting and cutting all skills needed to create our models.
