Sunshine and Sunflowers in Cuckoo Class

​The first two weeks have flown past in Cuckoo Class and we are very proud of our DT winding mechanisms.  Our narrowboats, in their locks, have been admired by lots of people and we can’t wait to take them home! The solar eclipse was quite exciting and we spent our playtime last Friday trying to see it through a colander. We actually had a really good view when the sun went behind the clouds and it was safe to take a quick look.

We have continued our love of Science and RE in our new project, Creation, and spent some time planting flowers outside to brighten up our world. We are also growing runner beans in class and recording their measurements as they grow and change. They have got off to a flying start with all the sunshine and some of them are already outgrowing their bags! We have also started an extended piece of art work based around sunflowers.
