Summer, summer, summer time...

Kingfishers have got off to an amazing start this term. Our art day on Tuesday produced some amazing art work and the improvement between start and finish was clear to see. Not only did we learn about drawing what we could see, we also explored how we could use different media (such as pencil marks, pastels and charcoal) to achieve different looks and textures, but we also looked at how we could create both 2D and 3D art work. The end result was a kingfisher that I think we can all be proud off.

We also used our detective skills to figure what this term's book was going to be about. After playing pass the parcel and receiving items such as a telescope, sandwich, packet of crisps, a cat, a seagull and a lighthouse, we were thrilled to discover that we would be reading, and writing about, The Lighthouse keepers lunch.
