Special Starlings

We have had a tremendous start to the new term. To launch our English text, The Day the Crayons Quit, the children had to become detectives and follow a series of clues to find Miss Bullard who had been kidnapped by angry crayons!
​In PSHE, we have been following a unit produced by SCIB (Safeguarding Children in Banbury) on substance misuse. The first lesson was on our neurological early warning systems and emotions - this was an excellent opportunity for the children to use drama to investigate these themes though mini scenario based plays. 
In maths, last terms hard work on place value appears to be paying off, we have moved onto formal column addition and the children have risen to the challenge with the help of manipulatives. Watch this space for some parent friendly videos to support homework.
