A Week in Cuckoo Class!

It has been so lovely to be back in Cuckoo Class this week and to spend time with our wonderful Year 2 pupils. We spent some time learning about why we remember people who died fighting for their country with poppies. We concentrated on the First World War and tried to understand just how many soldiers lost their lives in the battle of the Somme. Year 2 sent a representative to our whole school remembrance service held in the garden and we made a beautiful poppy wreath to display in our classroom.

It was fun not to have to wear school uniform on Friday and we hope we raised lots of money for Children in Need. Our Maths Find out Friday activity was linked to the spots on Pudsey’s bandage and we had fun trying to find as many different combinations as possible using only four colours. We found lots!           

In computing we have been using Purple Mash to create our own characters to make a animated story book
