Kookaburras are stewing it over

Kookaburras have been really committed to reducing food waste this week with pupils even bringing in fruit waste from home to add to our Kookaburra Compost bin. They have also been encouraging other year groups to put their fruit cores and banana skins, from morning snacks, into the same place.

Some Kookaburras were out over the weekend foraging for blackberries as part of their home learning and we have been busy in class evaluating and improving our original apple crumble recipe.

​We decided to test lots of other seasonal fruits too in case we want to use them instead. We clearly have some budding chefs in our midst who enjoyed working on their knife skills!
