Fledglings are digging deep

The children in Fledglings class have been enjoying the warmer weather this week by spending more time in the garden. Hector and Ahad wanted to learn how to use the big digging tools. The adult modelled how to hold the tools correctly and place the tools them at the edge of the existing hole to make it wider and deeper. There was lots of excitement when they started to move earth and transport it into the buckets “I can do it”. “Look, look, look!”

We talked about how to move and transport the tools and discussed how to minimise risk. The children demonstrated focus and resilience throughout the task.
