Creative Kookaburra Class

Kookaburras have really been enjoying out creative learning over the last few weeks. We are working hard with the Activators in PE and can keep moving constantly for over an hour! We looked at lots of different stories from the Bible in RE and acted out the story of Zacchaeus, which shows us that everyone deserves a second chance. Following on from our drumming workshop, we are exploring other calls and responses using both our voices and a different instruments. 

We absolutely LOVED our second whole school art day and linked this to our Town and Country project. We painted landscapes, using some of the techniques used by Van Gogh. We were particularly inspired by his different brushstrokes and how he represented the sky. We even took to studying the sky ourselves to observe different cloud formations. We are currently painting modernist cityscapes to contrast with our landscapes.
