Bluebirds being Scientists

This week we started our new project, Let it Grow, by planting our runner beans on Monday and making our first scientific observations. We will be observing how they change over the next few weeks and recording their growth in our Runner Bean Diaries.
We also brought the poem ‘Martha’s Hair’ up to performance standard ready for the Poetry Festival at St Mary’s Church on Thursday. We all enjoyed performing it very much, especially modelling the different hair styles!
In maths we have been studying the properties of 2d and 3d shape and finding the mathematical difference between two numbers.
​In art we have started to explore the techniques used by the children’s author and illustrator, Eric Carle. We will be working on a large scale piece of collaborative art work, using his techniques, next week.
