STEM

The STEM Hub is where we join together the Cogs of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. To us this translates to Computing and Design and Technology alongside Maths and Science. We make obvious the connections between the disciplines and provide opportunities for children to explore how things work. To examine patterns, make connections, investigate actions and reactions in detail and to t develop a deeper understanding of the connectivity within the world around them. STEM subjects are delivered in dedicated lessons and throughout our Project work. We plan whole school project weeks in individual cog subjects and for STEM weeks. Connections are made with other Hubs, for example Geography for environmental knowledge and understanding and English lessons develop children’s skills to read and write in a scientific, critical and methodical style.
