At St Mary’s we take Safeguarding our children and families very seriously and work in close partnership with other statutory and community agencies to ensure all our pupils are able to thrive in a safe and supportive school and home environments.
If you have an immediate concern about a child and their safety and wellbeing please contact one of the Designated Safeguarding Leads who will be happy to help. We are guided in school by our Child Protection Policy
Our dedicated team are always available to support a parent or carer needing some advice, guidance or signposting to somewhere they can get help. In our Healthy, Happy, Safe. Living and Learning at St Mary's School booklet you can find lots of information about local and national support agencies, charities and websites offering lots of help to families as well as our own guidance on managing behaviour, routines and expectations in school.
Our children all start the school year with a focus on ‘Safety Week’, when we review their knowledge and update their skills to keep them safe in the real and cyber worlds. We have On Line Safety Information and at the bottom of our website pages you can find links to other organisations we teach the children to use to help keep them safe online.
In addition we are members of SCIB Safeguarding Children in Banbury and run dedicated learning projects for all pupils throughout the year developing their protective behaviour skills and resilience to manage the demands of the modern world. Further information is also available on our Curriculum pages.
