Dear Families

FINALLY we have the news we have been waiting for; school can open fully to ALL pupils

from March 8th.

The government made the announcement yesterday and have now asked schools to

prepare for ALL pupils to return to school on Monday 8th March.

This is a compulsory return to school and all pupils will be expected to attend.

There is a lot of things for us to organise between now and then and plenty of guidance

we need to read and follow. The senior team, teachers and support staff will be getting

everything ready over the coming week or so. When we have all the information ready,

we will send you all a letter telling you how school will be working. What I can say at the

moment is that it will not be very different from how it was before Christmas, still with

staggered start and finish times and we will give you each the individual details you need

for your family in good time to make arrangements.

We can't wait to have everyone back in school and learning together.

Well done and thank you again for all your hard work supporting home learning. Just a few

more days to go and the first piece of 'normal life' can resume......

Take care,

Mrs Woods

Welcome to St Mary's Church of England Primary School, Banbury. We are proud to be at the very heart of the town and the oldest school in Banbury with foundations back to 1705 as a Blue Coat School. We serve a diverse community, with pupils from a wide variety of ethnic, cultural and religious traditions. We know that our unique blend of tradition, care, education and moral guidance enables our pupils, staff and families to live in harmony and succeed in all they do.

St Mary's is a member the Oxford Diocesan School Trust and we work with our partners within the Trust and the wider Banbury and Oxfordshire community to bring to life our vision to ensure all of our community is 'Learning, Transforming and Growing'.

Please take a look around our website to find out more about what can offer your child and family. Do not hesitate to contact us about places in our inclusive school, where we admit children from the term of their 3rd birthday. We welcome visits to school to meet myself the team and see school ‘in action’. Please email or call the office to arrange an appointment.

We look forward to welcoming you to St Mary’s.

Ofsted, Oct 2016
  • Pupils like school and their teachers.
  • Their confidence grows as they move up the school.
  • Staff give a high priority to ensuring that pupils acquire good communication skills and read well.
  • The headteacher has created an effective and dedicated leadership team and generated a palpable team spirit and 'can do' attitude among staff.
