Being in Year 6 means that the Owls take on extra responsibilities within the school, such as being "playleaders" for our OPAL play. Our learning is fast, furious and fun, as we get ready for our next learning adventure - secondary school. We make sure that we are always trying our hardest and do our best.
We plan to make the best out of every day by working hard, leading by example and having a lot of fun along our learning journey.
In Owls, we understand that importance of showing our school values. We strive to demonstrate great behaviour for learning so that we reach our potential and are good role models for the other children in the school. When the adults spot us making right choices, we collect marbles and together we have chosen the following rewards:
| 150 marbles | 300 marbles | 450 marbles | 600 marbles |
| Chocolate brownies | Non-uniform day | PJs, teddies and film afternoon | Water play |
I am so excited to be teaching Year 6 this year! We have an action-packed, adventure-filled programme ahead, and I can’t wait to share every moment with the children as we celebrate their final year at St Mary’s. It is such a privilege to guide them through this important stage, watch them grow in confidence, and create memories that will stay with them long after they move on to secondary school.
When I’m not in the classroom, I love getting lost in a good book, exploring new places, and spending time with my fur baby, Molly—our much-loved school dog who always brings a smile to everyone’s day.

Leila and the Blue Fox by Kiran Millwood Hargrave tells the story of Leila, a young girl who travels to the Arctic to reconnect with her mother, a wildlife scientist. As Leila adjusts to this unfamiliar landscape, the story also follows Miso, a rare blue Arctic fox on a dangerous journey across the ice. The novel beautifully weaves together their stories, exploring themes of family, belonging, resilience and climate change through powerful, lyrical writing and striking illustrations.
