Owls: Year 6

Life in The Owls

Welcome to The Owls, our fantastic Year 6 class! We are curious, courageous, and always ready to take on a new challenge. As the oldest (and wisest) learners in school, we have an important part to play, not only in our own learning, but in making our school a great place to be.

Our Owls are leaders, learners and role models. Whether we're leading OPAL play, supporting younger children, taking responsibility around school or working together in the classroom, we're learning how to make a difference.

Year 6 is also about looking ahead as we prepare for these owls to leave the nest. We're building the independence, confidence and resilience we'll need for our next adventure while making the most of our final year together.

Our Class Teacher - Miss Nijhuis

I am so excited to be teaching The Owls this year! Year 6 is such an exciting chapter, and we have a wonderful year ahead filled with new challenges, adventures and opportunities to shine.

As we make the most of their final year at St Mary's, I'm looking forward to seeing the children grow in confidence, become independent and discover just how much they are capable of.

Outside of the classroom, I love getting lost in a good book, going for a coffee with friends, and watching Formula 1 racing on a Sunday with my family. I love seeing children discover new interests and challenge themselves. I'm excited to see the memories we make this year - I'm sure there will be plenty of laughter, learning and hard work along the way!
