St Mary's Primary School takes seriously its responsibility to protect and safeguard the welfare of all the children and young people in our care.

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility - If you have any concerns about a child, please report your concern to any of the team, who can be contacted via the school office on 01295 263026.

Outside of school office hours, please email: office@banburystmarysschool.co.uk

Alternatively, if you have an immediate safeguarding concern you can contact the MASH Tel: 0345 050 7666

For on-going concern/open cases or if you are unsure whether to make a referral contact The Locality and Community Support Services (LCSS)

All members of the school community, teachers, support staff, administrators, cleaners, governors, volunteers and visiting professionals receive regular training from the Oxfordshire Safeguarding Children’s Board (OSCB) designated trainers in ‘Generalist Safeguarding’ and are all vetted through appropriate procedures to ensure they are suitable to be in contact with children and families through agreed Safer Recruitment procedures

In addition, we have a team of Designated Safeguarding Leads who receive enhanced training in Safeguarding procedures and work with local community services (LCSS), Social Services (social workers) and the Police to ensure that any risks or concerns about the safety and wellbeing of children are dealt with swiftly, fairly and robustly.

Anyone with a concern about a child in school should contact one of the designated Safeguarding Leads; there is always at least one on the school premises during the school day.
