We are a loving group of year 1 children. We love creating our own games and work well together role playing, being creative and using construction.
We enjoy being outside and love to swing on the slack lines and climb across the equipment.

In Kingfishers, we strive to make the right choice by demonstrating our school values. Our ‘stars in the ten frames’ rewards are decided by the children and may include treats such as extra playtime on the field, time on the bikes and scooters, a classroom disco or a tea party. |

I am delighted to be teaching Year 1 and feel privileged to be part of such a wonderful, welcoming community. I look forward to learning alongside the Kingfishers, nurturing their curiosity, and embarking on new adventures together as we grow throughout the year.
Outside of school, I love spending time with my husband and our two daughters, as well as our playful dog and cuddly cat. They keep life busy, joyful, and full of laughter, and I always enjoy bringing that same sense of warmth and enthusiasm into the classroom.

This term, our stories will link closely to our project, Tell Me a Story... In our English lessons, we will be reading Stanley’s Stick by John Hegley. This lovely story is about a boy called Stanley, who uses his imagination to turn an ordinary stick into all sorts of exciting things. With his stick, he can fly to the moon, draw in the sand, go fishing, play a whistle and even ride a dinosaur. The children will have lots of opportunities to share their ideas, make predictions, write sentences and lists, and role-play different parts of the story. We will also be learning new vocabulary and encouraging the children to retell the story in their own words. During story time, we will also enjoy reading The Magic Bed by John Burningham.
