Kingfishers: Year 1
Welcome to Kingfishers
We are a loving group of year 1 children. We love creating our own games and work well together role playing, being creative and using construction.
We enjoy being outside and love to swing on the slack lines and climb across the equipment.

In Kingfishers, we strive to make the right choice by demonstrating our school values. Our ‘stars in the ten frames’ rewards are decided by the children and may include treats such as extra playtime on the field, time on the bikes and scooters, a classroom disco or a tea party. |
Our Class Teacher - Mrs Duff
I am delighted to be teaching Year 1 and feel privileged to be part of such a wonderful, welcoming community. I look forward to learning alongside the Kingfishers, nurturing their curiosity, and embarking on new adventures together as we grow throughout the year.
Outside of school, I love spending time with my husband and our two daughters, as well as our playful dog and cuddly cat. They keep life busy, joyful, and full of laughter, and I always enjoy bringing that same sense of warmth and enthusiasm into the classroom.

This term, our classroom text is the Naughty Bus by Jan Oke. Using Naughty Bus, the children will follow the mischievous adventures of a toy double-decker bus as it zooms through different places and gets into trouble along the way. They will write letters, diary entries, captions and a fact file on buses, leading to their own adventure story.. We will also be reading The Last Stop on Market Street by Matt de la Pena to support our transport.
