Nuthatches: Year 2

Welcome to Nuthatches

Nuthatches are lively little birds with a bright flash of colour, often spotted darting around the trees. Just like us, we are always curious, adventurous and ready to explore! We love discovering new things, asking questions and taking on challenges with enthusiasm. We are always curious, adventurous and ready to explore!

In Year 2, we think about our learning behaviour and consider our choices carefully. We learn from our mistakes and support each other. We collect house points and stars in the jar for making the right choices and together we have chosen our rewards:

150 marbles 300 marbles 450 marbles 600 marbles
15 minutes extra break 30 minutes busy time Sweet treats Non-school uniform day

Our Class Teacher - Miss Weber

I am very excited to be teaching year 2 this year, and look forward to creating a thriving and welcoming learning environment in our Nuthatches class. I look forward to exploring the world with the children through our exciting projects this year as well as our school trips. One of my favourite subjects to teach is Maths, and I can't wait to start breaking down and discovering number bonds with the Swallows. On the weekends, you will often find me spending time outdoors, swimming in hopefully not too cold lakes or baking gluten free and vegan cakes.

Our Class book - The Dragon Machine

The Dragon Machine by Helen Ward is a picture book about a lonely boy who discovers a magical machine that creates dragons. The story explores imagination and friendship, and will be used as inspiration for our own narrative writing.
