Kingfishers have been exploring some big ideas this week. We have used been practising addition within 10 using a variety of methods; as well as part whole models and number sentences we have been using number tracks to help us. We even made a life size number track to help us count the jumps. In English and History we have been exploring the idea of chronology and putting events in the order in which they happened. We used our baby photos as a starting point (thank you to everyone who sent them in - they are amazing) and talked about what the changes that happened as we grew; we also made a talking timeline.Best of all, we've been working really hard on showing our best behaviour and making our best effort when doing our work. As a result we've earned lots and lots of house points; several kingfishers have made it to 25 house points, earning themselves a lucky dip and becoming a House Point Hero.

This week, Kingfishers have been developing their understanding of body parts and body percussion. We took turns drawing around each other and labelling the parts that we knew, both inside and out, as we prepare for our exploration of the senses next week. |
