English; As part of our topic Espionage, children will study the books Anne Frank and Goodnight Mister Tom to understand the effects of war from the view of a child. Children will learn about the contrasting experiences and the profound impact the war had on their lives . As these texts explore the emotional turmoil these children experienced, our writing will be heavily centered around conveying tone.
As part of of historical enquiry into evacuation, we will look at how fiction portrays life as an evacuee. In Guided reading we will be looking at a range of both fiction and non-fiction texts and develop both our retrieval and inference skills. |
