In Goldcrests, we think about our learning behaviour and consider our choices carefully. We learn from our mistakes and support each other. We collect house points and marbles when we demonstrate our school Christian values and we have chosen our 2021 -2022 marble rewards:
Our teacher - Mrs Smith
I am thrilled to be teaching year 4 again this year. I am an energetic and outgoing teacher who loves to laugh! I have been teaching for 10 years and I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. I am sporty and I love spending time outside enjoying the fresh air. I live with my husband, our little boy, our pet hamster called Ronnie, our cat called Milo and our recent addition, a dog called Bernie.
Our inspiration in English this term is a book called ‘Weslandia’ by Paul Fleischman about a boy who creates his own civilisation. We will begin our learning by exploring the book and investigating Wes, the main character. Next, we will develop our own civilisation to use in our own narrative.

Through this learning, we will be focusing on our use of conjunctions, speech punctuation and tenses.
Our class book
Just before the Easter holiday, we started our new class book: Voyage of the Sparrowhawk by Natasha Farrant. Although we were only a few chapters in, we were already filled with excitement and intrigue - what with the children get up to on board the boat?
