We are the optimistic owls and in our final year at St Mary's.
We love our class community and everyone in it.
We are all independent learners and enjoy all of our class subjects.
We look forward to seeing each other every morning and we always help each other when anything goes downhill.
We are all wonderful friends to each other and enjoy each other’s company.

This is our read aloud text for this term. Letters from the Lighthouse is a book set around WW2. When a WW2 air raid happen, Olive's sister -Sukie - goes missing. Oliver and her brother (Cliff) have to be evacuated and meet some people on the way. Now Olive has mystery to solve because she has found a note and she is determined to solve it and find her sister.
English; As part of our topic Espionage, children will study the books Anne Frank and Goodnight Mister Tom to understand the effects of war from the view of a child. Children will learn about the contrasting experiences and the profound impact the war had on their lives . As these texts explore the emotional turmoil these children experienced, our writing will be heavily centered around conveying tone.
As part of of historical enquiry into evacuation, we will look at how fiction portrays life as an evacuee.
In Guided Reading we will look at Michael Morpurgo's Adolphus Tips.
We will also use a range of non fiction to support our retrieval of information to learn more about aspects of WW2.
